In 1973, 90 million people all over the world watched the tennis match of the century between women’s World champion Billie Jean King and ex-champion of men Bobby Riggs, which was called the “Battle of the Sexes”. A number of challenges awaited Billie Jean when she walked out from the United States Tennis Association with her mates and founded the “Women’s Tennis Association.” Bobby Riggs, ex-men’s-champion with male-dominated mind who is on the edge of cliff in his life due to his inbred gambling problem, came up to his mind of a tennis match with her for his comeback. Billie Jean turned down his challenge first but she accepted for the reason to make her fight for her life. Under the gaze of the whole US and the world, the match of history now begins.
The dream project has come true with Emma Stone, the winner of the Academy Awards® for Actress in a Leading Role, who desired this for her next film, the producers from “Slumdog Millionaire” including Danny Boyle, and the directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris from “Little Miss Sunshine”.

After creating a number of music videos and commercial together as a team and husband and wife, they made the directorial debut with “Little Miss Sunshine” (2006), which nominated in 4 categories including the Best Picture and won 2 Oscars. Following “Ruby Sparks”, this is their third film and the production company for all of their films is Fox Serchlight Pictures.
